Glen Ridge Motorsports Park leaves DirtCar fold.
As the 2011 year comes to a close big changes are in the works at the Ridge. After three season of flying the DirtCar banner Mike Romano and Jake Spraker have decided to drop the sanctioning body for the new season. 2012 will see American Racers as the track tire as well as Sunoco being brought in as the official fuel of the Ridge. The 2012 Modified point Champion will walk away with a five thousand dollar winner share of the point fund.
The Sportsman class will be known as The Bestline Oil 602 class. The 2012 Sportsman track champion will walk away with a two thousand dollar share of the overall point fund. Spraker and Romano are also looking into joining up with the popular Race of Champions series and hope to announce a race date in the near future. We feel going to American Racers will give more racers in this area a chance to give the Ridge a try, as well as a bigger point fund. Fonda Speedway tires will be legal this year.
The new clay has been laid and plans are in the works to start the 2012 race season with an inspection and practice night. The schedule is being worked on and will be released as soon as all dates can be confirmed.
